Hello ..

Maud Vosters

Everyday life, what does it look like for you?

My alarm goes off and get up and make some breakfast. Then I leave to go to Doortje and work on my assignments. At 18:00 I’m finished and go home. I cook some dinner and watch some television or meet up with friends.

Do you remember your first vintage purchase? Do you remember how that felt?

Pfff, I buy second hand clothes as long as I can remember so I have no idea what my first purchase was. But I remember my first Doortje item! It was a purple skirt. I’ve bought it a couple of years ago and I still fit it! Just a little bit more tight, haha! I still love the skirt!

What is it that makes vintage so appealing to you?

Vintage is unique. Clothes are more beautiful and I like to wear items out of the ordinary. I also like the idea of recycling and living in a sustainable way.

If you could travel by time-machine, were would you like to go fashion-wise?

Style wise the 1920s. Normally I don’t like blingbling but does dresses are fantastic. I would like to get married in a 1920s some day. The 1950s are also really fun.

How do you combine your vintage items? Or do you prefer to wear it from head to toe?

That depends. For example sometimes I only wear vintage shoes and another day my whole outfit is vintage. I just pick what combines good. Just what I feel like!

Is there a good advice you want to give to 'new' vintage lovers?

Visit Doortje Vintage haha! And go to thrift stores. You can find a section with second hand clothes. Browsing is important but I really like that.

Everyday life, what does it look like for you?

My daily life at the moment is nice and quiet. Since I finished my study Fashion Design at AMFI, I want to enjoy every day and do the things that I like without all the stress. Besides my work, I do hip-hop dancing and I am working on my own brand of accessories and tops.
What is your role within Doortje?
I take pictures for the webshop. So along with the model I make sure that the new clothing items of Doortje Vintage look good on the pictures. Very fun to do!
What is it that makes vintage so appealing to you?

It is unique and brings you back to another fashion era. When I see the garments on the model that I’m photographing, the clothing continues to amaze me with the details sometimes. Sometimes it's an overkill of all kinds of details and materials, you are less likely to see combined in contemporary fashion. That's what makes it so fun and inspiring to vintage clothing.

Do you remember your first vintage purchase? Do you remember how that felt?
My first vintage purchase was a whole bunch of clothes that I needed for a project during my studies. For next to nothing, I had a lot of vintage clothing pieces that I could use as inspiration for my work and I had unique fabrics that I could reuse.
Do you have a good tip for new vintage lovers ?

If you are a vintage audio enthusiast, then you should take a look at www.audiozolder.nl. My father has a love for good audio equipment but shows with his collection that audio equipment doesn’t have to be expensive. When my father was young he couldn’t afford expensive audio equipment, but now he searches everywhere for old audio equipment so he can repare it and make someone else happy with it. He made the audio attic from my old room and uses it to store all his vintage audio equipment.

Everyday life, what does it look like for you?

At this time is that the internship. At half past nine I wake up to my alarm clock and I stand up for a nice day at Doortje! I repair clothes and I help with packages for the webshop. When I come home I eat with my mom and dad, and then I'm going to relax on the couch. Or I'm going after Doortje straight to my boyfriend.

How did you hear about Doortje?

I started searching the internet and Doortje came almost instantly at the top of the results list. I called and the same day I had an appointment for a conversation! I was immediately excited!

Do you remember your first vintage purchase? Do you remember how that felt?

Yeah I remember that very well! That was an Escada bag/clutch of real leather. It felt really good! The bag was immediately caught my attention, and the nest day I bought it right away. It was extra special because I got it from my mother!

What is it that makes vintage so appealing to you?

It attracts me expecially that it is unique and I'm sure the only one who has this item! Also attracts me that the quality of past times is much better than now!

Is there a good advice you want to give to 'new' vintage lovers?

Keep browsing! There are lots of great things in, but maybe you can't see them right away!

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

How did you hear about Doortje?
I had often heard the name , and when I was in Eindhoven , I always told myself to take a look to go but it was getting out of it. Till my roommate came to pick up some things she had ordered online and I just went along with it . Then I immediately asked if I wanted to be a model for the webshop.

Do you remember what your first vintage purchase was ? How did that feel ?
I  do not remember my first vintage purchase so well . I grew up in a family where vintage , antique and recycled were never taboo . But I think my first and most striking piece was a typical vintage glitter jacket from the 80 in Antwerp.

What attracts you in vintage ?
I actually felt a bit special with this. Because there was only one jacket in the store that happens to be my size, quite my taste and exactly at the time that I was in Antwerp..Vintage shopping gives an extra piece satisfaction and appreciation while shopping because the clothes have a story and that is quite unique! This is what attracts me in vintage clothing: it’s less mainstream and has a life behind it. I also think that clothing from the past is made with better quality and more attention to detail.

How do you combine your vintage clothing? Do you prefer to wear vintage from head to toe?
I rarely wear vintage from head to toe. I often find that the youthfulness and freshness of a young girl disappears. Furthermore, it is often very ‘ sexless ‘, and I find feminine important in a outfit. I combine my favourite vintage pieces in different outfits of clothing that I have scored in boutiques.

Do you have a good tip for new vintage lovers ?
A good tip for vintage love haves : if something does not fit properly and is not quite your size , do not be greedy , but let it lie down . Then it is not your item , give it someone else who fits and respect the garment + cut. Would you like to have it? Bring it to go to the tailor !

Do you remember what your first vintage purchase was? How did that feel?
I think I bought my first vintage clothing at Doortje . It was a long salmon pink party dress with beads and sequins, a lovely silky fabric , it looks like a wedding dress ! I was in love . Of course I do not wear the dress but fits well, so maybe he comes in handy once at a party . But I think it's particularly special to have . After this dress  quickly more ( or portable ) items followed. Because I was an intern at Doortje I was always so itchy when all the beautiful pieces that newly entered, I could not help me!

What attracts you to vintage?
I especially like to wear something that nobody else has. It is special when you think about who wore the garment, on which occasion or in which time. You should never know, but you can fantasize about it. I also like to wear something that contributes to a good environment .

How do you combine your vintage clothing? Whether you prefer to wear from head to toe vintage?
I never wear vintage from head to toe , but I have some oversized vintage sweaters hanging in my closet which I love and which I prefer to wear with a nice pair of jeans . I also wear a plain outfit with  like earrings or a beautiful ring from the old collection of my mother or grandmother . My favorite item has to be my white summer dress from Doortje . Very simple, sandals and a vintage sunglasses make this outfit complete!

Did you have a good tip for new vintage lovers?
Wear especially what you like and where you find yourself fine feeling.
You don’t have to be insecure if you want to wear a vintage item, in each pearl from Doortje your unique!

Carolien Baudoin

Reintroduced & photographer Doortje Vintage

Foto Carolien hello

Everyday life, what does it look like for you?
Almost 7 years ago I started  my own web design company - called Funkology - along with Reinoud . The most hours I spend at Strijp -S in Eindhoven , where I have a workstation in a shared studio in building Gerard . My big hobby is sourcing flea markets in search for the finest vintage treasures for my shop - reintroduced.nl - but of course also for myself .

What is your role within Doortje ?
I have the honor to photograph all the pretty faces for the webshop! I do the photo shoots with models , which consists of shooting and a piece of styling .

How did the collaboration between your designer company Funkology and Doortje arise?
By Angela - one of the Doortje sisters – At Funkology we were asked to handle the technical side of the Doortje shop . That 's already been a couple of years ago , but since then we regularly work on the webshop and other fun stuff.

What appeals to you in vintage ?
The love for recycling , the story behind a product , the better quality of items from the past and the fact that everything is made with much more care and detail .

You also have your own webshop ‘reintroduced’.  What do you sell , and how did you get this idea ?
The name " reintroduced " is inspired by the love for the recycling of old treasures and introducing upcoming designers . Making the world a little bit better by using items again and provide a platform for young entrepreneurs and designers .

Marleen Kurvers

Dutch Design Year

DDY Marleen Kurvers

Do you take part in the Dutch Design Week?
Yes, with the expo FRONT ROOM which is currently on display in Amsterdam in the Beurs van Berlage. We search for interesting contrasts between design and vintage. Also a lot of new designers are participating.

Dutch Design Year pushes the boundaries between new design and vintage products . Raw, beautiful, avant-garde and chic. In dialogue, but also searching for confrontations with the space . When products of the designers  face each other,  often unusual combinations arise: refined products and graffiti , neon and crafts.Participating designers: Steven Banks , rENs , Esther Jongsma , Tessa Koot , Dirk Vander Kooij , Kiki van Eijk and Joost van Bleiswijk , Nacho Carbonell , Ontwerpduo , Daphna Laurens , Susanne de Graef and Anne - Grethe Filtenborg .Front Lounge stands for progressive and innovative, the new generation of designers.

Do you remember what was your first design purchase?
How did that feel ?We have the rags chair by TEJO REMY of DROOG. This is a real design classic. But I do not have much more design at home honestly. For such things you must really save, so it will take some time .... It would be fun to have quite a collection in 10 years or so. I am also pleased with the paper vase from Pepe Heykoop for example, which is not so expensive and also fun, especially on a vintage table!

And your first vintage furniture purchase?
I have a black vintage Danish chair almost falling apart, but that I just love. Reuse and also that a product already has a history makes it special. A vintage product that looks and feels lived I think is the best part.

What appeals to you more? Vintage or design?
Pfff I think the combination - vintage is more interesting combined with design and vice versa. The reuse aspect is important to me, so therefore surely the combination.  And very nice to have an old table with a very trendy design vase!

Which designer from the past inspires you?
I find the work of furniture PASTOE very nice . Early 19th century established and they still make furniture. The ones of the 50/60’s I find the most beautiful. Wooden furniture, beautiful craftsmanship and yet very sophisticated, often you see designs of today that are somehow inspired by Pastoe.

And what upcoming designer will give you inspiration, and why ?
Tessa Koot. She makes tables, chairs, cabinets, pictures: they are almost sculptures. There is much in her designs what I find very interesting: avant-garde, contrast, color, raw: her work has a big wow factor for me ....  She finds her own way in the design world and I find that very brave and amazing.

Model Doortje Vintage

Your daily life, could you tell us something about that?
TRING TRINGGGG TRINGGG , the alarm rings every morning very early! I 'm not a morning person but duty calls! I work as a Store Manager at Scotch & Soda in Breda and make long days, but time fly’s by!

Could you tell us what you do at Doortje Vintage?
I have a busy job but try anyway to be model for Doortje because I’ve been doing this for years and it remains cozy! I remember when I was a young girl of 18 years I was just browsing around in the Doortje shop in Eindhoven. Elisa came to me and asked me with her fantastic accent from the Rips " Wil jij bij ons op de fotooo?" Since that day I’m a familiar face on the webshop !

Do you remember your first vintage purchase? Do you remember how that felt?
A crocodile skin burgundy colored envelope bag  that I bought in a boutique in Amsterdam. It gave me a feeling of elegance! Last year someone wanted to buy it from me for lots of money but I said: no way, it’s mine!

What is it that makes vintage so appealing to you?The story behind it, I 'd like to know who owned your special item..  an elegant lady from the 50s .. a hippie who went off at Woodstock .. who knows.

If you could travel by time-machine, were would you like to go fashion-wise?
The 1950s! As Brigitte Bardot, the French Marilyn Monroe. Both beautiful woman. And gladly with the handsome James Dean next to me .. Hmmmm ..

How do you combine your vintage items? Or do you prefer to wear it from head to toe?
I rarely wear vintage from head to toe, that’s not my thing. I think it's nice to combine modern clothing  with a beautiful vintage piece! I have two very special chic vintage dresses. I bought them years ago in a boutique in Paris and they remain special to me. Sometimes I pull one of them out of the closet! Vintage dresses and bags are my favorite!

Is there a good advice you want to give to 'new' vintage lovers?
You must try it on!

Your daily life, could you tell us something about that?
My alarms wakes me up at 08:30, such a luxury! I open my eyes and the only thing on my mind are photos, photos, photos and of course photography. And if I am not make pictures, I love to go to a flea market, just to wander around and hoping to find a diamond in the rough and beautiful vintage items.

Could you tell us what you do at Doortje Vintage on a daily basis?
“Strike a pose, now vogue!”

Do you remember your first vintage purchase? Do you remember how that felt?
Oeffh, that ‘s a good one. I think it was an item that I got from my mother. But honestly, the first item that I bought myself was at Doortje Vintage. A really colorful 80s blouse, which was a little bit too big so altered it. On purpose because the graphic print was so good, I needed it in my life!

What is it that makes vintage so appealing to you?
Some people find vintage or secondhand clothes a bit dirty, I don’t agree with that. I really don’t mind, I love it actually. All the different stories that are attached to all these nice pieces. And of course the emotional value. The best thing about vintage to me is that someone bought this beautiful piece a long time ago, has taken good care of it and I still get to wear it right now.

If you could travel by time-machine, were would you like to go fashion-wise?
I LOVE DISCO!! Hand me over a glitter bodysuit and I will dance the night away, preferably on You Should Be Dancing (BeeGees) ‘John Travolta, eat your heart out!’

How do you combine your vintage items? Or do you prefer to wear it from head to toe?
Honestyl? I really don’t care! As long as you wear something that makes you feel good about yourself!

Is there a good advice you want to give to 'new' vintage lovers?
Don’t be afraid. If you find a cool item and it is not that expensive, buy it! You will never regret it. And remember, you will only come across the best vintage items once. And if you don’t wear it, just give it to your best girlfriend on her birthday!

Delphine Duisters.
Model Doortje Vintage

Your daily life, could you tell us something about that?
On a weekday I usually wake up by my own special alarm-clock, my dog. I get up, take a shower, get dressed etc. Before I leave the house I feed my rabbit Lilly and of course myself. Normally my days are pretty busy. In the evening I go to the gym to work out. Around 10 I jump into my bed, pretty much my favorite place.

Could you tell us what you do at Doortje Vintage on a daily basis?
Being a model for Doortje means that I am only there every now and then. Normally the photo shoots are a lot of fun. As a model I make sure that I am reliable, if I am there, I am there 100%. And of course the creative Doortje sisters are inspiring and bring up a lot of energy

Do you remember your first vintage purchase? Do you remember how that felt?
My first vintage purchase was a Portobello Road market in London. I think that is my favorite place to be. I bought a silver hairbrush and mirror. It really felt as if I bought something with a story.

What is it that makes vintage so appealing to you?
I really like the fact that vintage is original and unique. I own some vintage items, mostly bought at Doortje. When I go to work, I dress up in these and normally get a lot of compliments about them.

If you could travel by time-machine, were would you like to go fashion-wise?
Hmm I don’t think I would take that opportunity, I like living in this era. I don’t think about what has been or will be, but try to live right now.

How do you combine your vintage items? Or do you prefer to wear it from head to toe?
I love to combine vintage with high heels. And a Chanel necklace simply completes everything.

Is there a good advice you want to give to 'new' vintage lovers?
Yes, my advice is to bring your vintage loving friends on vintage trips. They know how vintage works and can help you out easily. I am not a pro yet.

Suzanne Smulders.
Freelancer Doortje Vintage Eindhoven

Your daily life, could you tell us something about that?
On Tuesdays I work for Doortje which means helping out at the store in Eindhoven but also working behind the scenes. Tuesday evening is photoshoot evening, making photos for the webshop. Every Wednesday I teach photography and film at FHC Communicatie. On the other days of the week I work as a freelance concept and brand developer. Different jobs and assignments every day, which is something that I really love.

Could you tell us what you do at Doortje Vintage on a daily basis?
Wow, that is a pretty difficult question. I think one of my best qualities is that I am multidisciplinairy. Different tasks in different fields, I can handle it. I have studied marketing and fashion, I fit well with the team and share the passion for vintage.

Do you remember your first vintage purchase? Do you remember how that felt?
My first vintage item was a scarf that belonged to my mother. She used to wear it so gracefully, I can still remember that. The scarf is purple and has a tube shape. The material is extremely soft and therefor perfect to wear. Because of its color it will brighten up your outfit right away. Such a shame it doesn’t has my mother perfume in it anymore, maybe I should ask her to wear it again for a while.

What is it that makes vintage so appealing to you?
I would have loved to be a teenager in the Eighties. The powerful and exaggerated silhouettes are just great and there were so many different and interesting materials, colors and prints.

If you could travel by time-machine, were would you like to go fashion-wise?
I would have loved to be a teenager in the Eighties. The powerful and exaggerated silhouettes are just great and there were so many different and interesting materials, colors and prints.

How do you combine your vintage items? Or do you prefer to wear it from head to toe?
I prefer to wear just one nice vintage item that I can combine with good basics. I love to stand out with a bright color or an iconic print but you won’t see me wearing vintage from head to toe. It’s amazing when you can pull this of but it doesn’t work for me.

Is there a good advice you want to give to 'new' vintage lovers?
In the beginning I found it pretty difficult to find good vintage items. I think that you have to learn how an item could work for you. How to wear it and how to combine it. Best thing to do is just to go vintage shopping for a day. Try anything on just to see what suits you. Start with a blouse or jumper, something that you already like to wear. And don’t be scared to ask for help, people that work in a vintage store are used to the different shapes and uniqueness of the items of the past.

Imke de Jong.
Store manager Doortje Vintage Rotterdam

Your daily life, could you tell us something about that?
My daily life varies from day to day. Three days a week I work at Doortje Vintage in Rotterdam. The other days are filled with working as a jewelry and accessories designer at The Boyscouts and I also design and make my own bags named imkedejong.

Could you tell us what you do at Doortje Vintage on a daily basis?
Since a year and a half Doortje also has a shop in Rotterdam and I have been working there for almost a year. My main focus is to make sure the shop looks right, keeping the social media up to date, ironing every piece that goes into the shop and every now and then some retouching of imagery for the webshop. A very varied job.

Do you remember your first vintage purchase? Do you remember how that felt?
My first vintage item was something I got from my dad. My parents used to work as first aid workers at festivals, like Pinkpop. The t-shirt he wore at the summer of ’78 is still a piece I love to wear. My first vintage purchase was a rusty-red suede coat that I actually bought at Doortje. It is a really elegant coat that I wear to special occasions, it really makes an entrance.

What is it that makes vintage so appealing to you?
The past year I have learned a lot about vintage. What is most appealing to me is the good quality but also the special fit. And of course the craftmanship that has been used to make every piece. You can really tell that there has been a lot of care and time taken to every detail, such as the buttons, the fabric, everything just seems right. Remarkable and unique because nowadays you just don’t find this craftmanship very often.

If you could travel by time-machine, were would you like to go fashion-wise?
I would go back to the time of Elvis Presley and James Dean, at the end of the fifties. A little bit of rock ’n roll, with a feminine touch. Of course I would also wear all the denim that was supposed to be worn by the guys. So their clothes in our time? And Elvis as my love?

How do you combine your vintage items? Or do you prefer to wear it from head to toe?
You will probably won’t see me in vintage from head to toe. That is just not my style. Preferably I wear a gorgious blouse or a nice jumper with a pair of jeans from this era. The type of jeans from back then just don’t fit me that well. Dresses and highwaist skirts, yes I wear them, not that often but when the suns comes out, I love to wear them with bare legs and a simple white t-shirt.

Is there a good advice you want to give to 'new' vintage lovers?
Like the Doortje sisters already said, just try everything on. On the hanger you will not see the shape or fit as it is supposed to be. You will only see it when you try it on. Being able to work with a sewingmachine is a great benefit, you will be able to see what a vintage piece could also look like after changing it. This is something I really try to advice and stimulate if it comes to customers. Make the skirt a little bit shorter, roll up the sleeve, so voila the whole look changes and it will probably fit better in you wardrobe.

Diana Jansen.
Co owner Doortje Vintage

Your daily life, could you tell us something about that?
My job at Doortje is a full time job. That means that I am working at our shop in Eindhoven from Tuesday until Saturday. My main activity is our webshop. I take care of the photograpy, the retouching and finally putting everything online. I also take care of our fashion school interns by guiding them. And at Doortje I get the chance to work on one of my favorite things, purchasing new vintage products.

Could you tell us what you do at Doortje Vintage on a daily basis?
I am the one with the most knowledge on the history of the products and thereby I also have the best materials knowledge. These two things are a very important when it comes to vintage products, combining these factors help me to estimate how much something is worth.

Do you remember your first vintage purchase? Do you remember how that felt?
My first vintage piece was a gift that I got from my aunt Emma. It was a short, leather 70s jacket that I got when I was 17. The best part about it was that I was the only one who owned such a jacket, it was really an unique piece.

What is it that makes vintage so appealing to you?
What I love the most about vintage is that each piece is special and with a great eye for detail. Usually vintage has got really good quality which I think is really nice, you will be able to wear it for quite some years. And of course I really like that it is unique, I will be the only wearing it.

If you could travel by time-machine, were would you like to go fashion-wise?
Actually I like every time period, so that would be hard to choose. What I like most about recent times is that all the previous periods and their special characteristics can be combined. It´s the best!

How do you combine your vintage items? Or do you prefer to wear it from head to toe?
I wear a lot of vintage, I think almost every day something that I am wearing is from the past. Not vintage from head to toe, but just some nice items. I do buy my basics, such as tops, pantyhose and lingerie, in ´new´ shops. A perfect combination if you ask me.

Is there a good advice you want to give to 'new' vintage lovers?
You should really try everything. You won´t know if it´s right for you until you have tried it on. Sometimes pieces seem very extreme, but if you combine with a simple, let´s say, black legging, they will not be to much of a show stopper.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Angela Jansen.
Co owner Doortje Vintage

Your daily life, could you tell us something about that?
I work at Doortje Vintage part-time and thereby is vintage definitely a lifestyle for me. Besides working for Doortje I am a freelance designer. For both Doortje as my own assignments I take care of the visual part, mostly graphic design. I really love being a designer, to work on graphic jobs but also conceptual ones. At Doortje I work on a variety of things, like styling the shop, window dressing, the web design and the photography. Taking pictures for the web shop and scouting models is also part of my job. I like to go on adventures and find nice vintage things with the most beautiful stories. So working for Doortje, my job as a designer and my search for for nice vintage is a daily adventure.

Could you tell us what you do at Doortje Vintage on a daily basis?
One of my tasks is to maintain and work on the visual identity of Doortje. Doortje has really found here own identity over the past few years and I am mostly responsible for that. And of course the photography, I am responsible for making the pictures of the models for our webshop.

Do you remember your first vintage purchase? Do you remember how that felt?
I can still remember it as if it was yesterday, even though it’s been quit some years ago, I think in 1999, I was about 19 years old. I found some really nice vintage bags at a flea market in de Rips, a little village where my sisters and I grew up. At the time I was studying at the Design Academy in Eindhoven and just like every other student I wanted to look unique and of course nobody owned the same vintage bag. So there you go, my first vintage purchase gave me that unique feeling.

What is it that makes vintage so appealing to you?
A lot. Well actually everything makes vintage appealing to me. Strangely enough I never wear a lot of vintage all at once. So I will wear a nice sweater, or shoes with a funky heel or a lovely dress. I do love to wear vintage coats. I think I own about twenty of them I can easily combine them with any vintage bag.

If you could travel by time-machine, were would you like to go fashion-wise?
That´s a tough question because I think every time period has its own appeal. What I like the most about the early days is the fact that people really dressed up. Their hair-do’s were just perfect, as well as their make-up and dresses. Nowadays people dress a lot more sober and simple. But if I had to choose, I would say being a twenty-year old in the Eighties. Tough, colorful and tumultuous!

How do you combine your vintage items? Or do you prefer to wear it from head to toe?
As you have just read, I don´t dress up that extreme. So no vintage from head to toe for me. I don´t have to be the center of the attention but I do love beautiful stuff. Finding beautiful and rare items, that´s what I like the most. And of course it gives me a good feeling to be sustainable. By giving clothes a new life, there will be less waste, easy as that.

Is there a good advice you want to give to 'new' vintage lovers?
Just start with a simple bag or a nice oversize sweater. Combine vintage with things that you already own. After you have experienced the quality of ´old things´ and have fallen in love with it, you never want to go back.

Elisa Jansen.
Co owner Doortje Vintage

Your daily life, could you tell us something about that?
What I enjoy most is that every single day is different. Normally my working days start at shop and office in Eindhoven. But I also try to visit our shop in Rotterdam once a week. I feel really fortunate that my job is my greatest passion. Having your own business means that you have to work hard and that you make long days, six to seven a week. The nice part is that it still doesn't feel as if it is a job. I wouldn't want it any other way.

Could you tell us what you do at Doortje Vintage on a daily basis?
There are some daily jobs that are my responsibility, all the communication with customers, press, suppliers etc. I also take care of all the parcels, to make sure they are well taken care of and will be delivered on time. If these tasks are done, I concentrate on purchase, finances, strategies en promotion.

Do you remember your first vintage purchase? Do you remember how that felt?
To be honest, I have no idea. My passion for vintage isn't something that started out of the blue. It is something that I found more interesting by time and that grew into a pretty big obsession for it.

What is it that makes vintage so appealing to you?
You could better ask me what I don't find appealing? Haha. Honestly, I pretty much like every aspect of vintage. The pieces that you get are unique, you wouldn't easily ran into a stranger with the same outfit. But also the quality and the eye for detail are amazing. There is a pretty big contrast with what you can find in shops nowadays. What I also really like is that you can combine different styles from the past into something completely new. And off course, it gives me a nice feeling to be active when it comes to sustainability.

If you could travel by time-machine, were would you like to go fashion-wise?
It is pretty hard to just pick one period of time. I would prefer to own this time-machine, THE Delorean from Back to the Future would just be great, so I could visit every period for a little while. And you know what, I would also go and visit the Future!

How do you combine your vintage items? Or do you prefer to wear it from head to toe?
Actually, I wear vintage from head to toe. I love it. Only my basics, like panty hose and sock, I buy at nowadays shops.

Is there a good advice you want to give to 'new' vintage lovers?
Just give it a go! Trying it on is a basic rule in vintage. Vintage has a completely different look when you try it on. And most of the time, by trying it, you can easily tell how you could combine it to make it yours.
